Privacy Policy

This policy explains what BenCAD does and does not collect. In short: your drawings never leave your device, but like most websites we use analytics to understand how the site is used.

Your drawings stay on your device

BenCAD is a browser-based tool that runs entirely on your own device. Drawings you create are stored locally in your browser and are never uploaded to us or anyone else. We cannot see your drawings. There are no user accounts and no login, so we hold no drawing data of any kind.

Any business details or logo you add for the PRO title block are also stored only in your browser's local storage on your own device. They are not transmitted to us.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4, deployed via Google Tag Manager, to understand how people find and use the site — for example which pages are visited and how many people use the tool. This helps us decide what to improve.

These services set cookies and process limited technical information, which may include:

• Pages visited and time spent on them
• Approximate location, derived from your IP address (typically city or region level)
• Device type, browser and operating system
• How you arrived at the site, such as a search engine or a link

Analytics cookies are only set after you accept them. Until you make a choice, or if you reject, Google Consent Mode keeps analytics storage disabled. Google Analytics data is processed by Google. Google acts as a data processor on our behalf and may transfer data outside the UK and EEA under appropriate safeguards. IP addresses are anonymised by default in Google Analytics 4. We do not use analytics data to identify individuals, and we do not sell or share it with advertisers.

How to opt out

You can prevent analytics collection in any of these ways:

• Install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on
• Enable "Do Not Track" or an equivalent privacy setting in your browser
• Use a browser or extension that blocks analytics scripts
• Block cookies for this site in your browser settings

Blocking analytics does not affect the drawing tool — BenCAD works exactly the same either way.

Change your cookie choice — reopens the consent banner so you can accept or reject analytics.

Advertising

We do not run advertising on BenCAD. There are no advertising networks, no retargeting pixels, and no social media tracking integrations on this site.

If you contact us

Our contact form is handled by Formspree, which passes your message on to us by email. Your name, email address and message are used solely to respond to your enquiry, are not added to any marketing list, and are not shared with any third party beyond that delivery.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct or request deletion of personal data we hold about you, to object to processing, and to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office. Since we hold no accounts and no drawing data, in practice this will usually relate to analytics data or an email you have sent us. To make a request, contact us at hello@bencad.com.
